Kill Your Own Dinner
This radical concept was pioneered by Mark Zuckerberg in 2011: to only eat what he personally kills. Inspired by the kelongs around, we will guide you to respectfully dispatch a crab or fish, and learn how to shuck a live oyster. You will also forage herbs from our permaculture farm, and harvest honey from our beehives. Then experience 'farm-to-table' at its truest and freshest. This activity is included as part of a Full Board stay. Duration: 2h.
Some seafood restaurants let you 'catch your own' from their display tanks, but your experience ends there as the fish disappears into the kitchen.

At House of Melissa (and The Sundowner), our vision is to connect people with the provenance of their food, to promote appreciation of the charity of nature. We want more people to care for the environment that goes into sustaining us.

Enter "Kill Your Own", a true farm-to-table private dining concept and an occasion that will be unforgettable and lots of fun. You'll literally have a hand in every dish over three courses, each with a kill or forage element.

You'll start with a farm tour to forage for edibles, and don a beesuit to learn about and harvest honey from our resident rescued honeybees. Then it's hands on time when you catch and kill a crab or fish, shuck an oyster, and roll out your own pasta dough made from eggs from the farm!

Each course is paired with a bespoke cocktail and ends off with a home-made desert.
It's not just a meal, it's an experience. And there's nothing else like this in Sg.
